CUMBERLAND AVENUE CODE READY FOR PUBLIC REVIEW

The final draft of the Cumberland Avenue Form-Based Code has been compiled by Code Studio of Austin, Texas, after a series of public meetings, including meetings on April 4th and June 18th of this year.

The Form-Based Code establishes zoning and design guidelines for the Cumberland Avenue Corridor Project, which is redeveloping Cumberland Avenue from 17th Street west to the railroad overpass.

The Final Draft of the Form-Based Code for the Cumberland Avenue Corridor is available for review at www.cityofknoxville.org/cumberland.

This document is scheduled to be heard at the regular Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12th. The agenda for that meeting can be found at http://agenda.knoxmpc.org. The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Assembly Room of the City County Building, 400 Main St. For questions about the meeting, contact MPC at 865.215.2500.

If MPC recommends approval of the rezoning and Form-Based Code document at the Sept. 12th meeting, the next step in the process would be for City Council to consider adopting the Code on two readings.
