April 28th Update

Mayor Rogero Highlights the Cumberland Avenue Corridor Project in her State of the City Address

April 28 at Suttree Landing Park in the South Waterfront

In her State of the City address today, Mayor Madeline Rogero said Knoxville is benefiting from new investment and energy across the city, and she proposed major initiatives in next year’s budget to build on that momentum. She also acknowledged the improvements on Cumberland Avenue.
"This year, we will also see progress on our investments in commercial corridors extending from downtown. The Cumberland Avenue Corridor will be completed by football season. On time and on budget, you can already see the new function, look, and feel of that corridor. Our $17 million dollar streetscape investment has leveraged $190 million to date in new private sector mixed-use development."
