March 1st Update

University Commons

University Commons is an urban, vertical retail complex that will feature two of the nation’s most successful retailers – Walmart and Publix. This 211,000 sq. ft. retail center will be located adjacent to the University of Tennessee. Official ground breaking for the project will be March 6th at 1:30pm.

Cumberland Avenue Design Review Board (C-7) Meeting

What: The C-7 Cumberland Avenue Design Review Board will meet to review proposed projects. For more information about this meeting contact Mike Brusseau with the Knoxvillle/Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission at 865.215.2500.

Cumberland Avenue Merchants Association (CAMA) Meeting Reminder

Time: 3:00 - 4:00 pm

Location: Goal Post Tavern, 1824 Cumberland Avenue

What: The merchants and other interested stakeholders meet to discuss items of interest or concern and get updates on the City's Cumberland Avenue Corridor Project.

Parade begins at 11:00am
Dress your dog up in boas, beads, costumes and parade down Gay Street for the Mardi Growl Parade. If you don’t have a dog, come and watch the dogs as they parade down Gay Street and listen to the Old City Buskers on Market Square from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.
