January 11th Update

Cumberland Avenue Design Review (C-7) Board Meeting Update

The C-7 Board meeting was held on January 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Goal Post Tavern, 1824 Cumberland Avenue. The meeting hosted by the Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) was held to review a proposed development for 2010 Cumberland Avenue (corner of Mountcastle and Cumberland). The meeting was open to the public.

The proposed mixed use development project with 2 floors of parking, 1 floor of retail and a proposed 9 floors of residential was well received by the C-7 Board. The Board voted to recommend 6 variances to the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) and approved the project with the following conditions: 1) subject to BZA approval, 2) approval of alternate elevation plans, and 3) approval of future sign plans. The next step in this proposal is for the applicant to present plans to the BZA on January 17th at 4:00 in the Small Assembly Room of the City County Building.
