University of Tennessee Update
Final Exams start tomorrow April 30th and continue May 1, 2, 3, 6, 7. Best of luck to all students as they finish the semester. University College Ceremonies run May 8-11th and Graduate hooding is Thursday May 9th, congratulations to all the graduates. East Tennessee’s First Annual GREEN + GO Sustainable Tour (AIA/GBCI Credit)
May 4
Get a hands on look at some of Knoxville’s most cutting-edge in sustainable and green design on Saturday, May 4, 2013! This open-house format tour will educate tour goers on systems and designs that make up some of Knoxville’s ‘greenest’ buildings, which are healthier, more durable, use fewer resources and save on operations and maintenance costs.
The tour is open and FREE to the public (RSVP required) and offers 2 AIA and 2 GBCI credits with paid admission. Once registered, attendees will receive a booklet with information concerning the tours, including a map with directions to each tour location.

April 9th Update
Form Code Public Meeting - Follow Up
Thanks to everyone who attended the Form Based Code meeting on Thursday, April 4th! There were about 25 people in attendance and Lee Ensweiler with Code Studio of Austin, Texas gave a great presentation on the draft code.
The DRAFT code is available for review here or

There were some comments, questions and observations that will require changes to the draft. If you have comments or questions regarding the draft code, please send them to awallace@cityofknoxville.org by close of business on Tuesday, April 16th so that they can be incorporated into the next draft.

Re: Traffic Advisory – Road Closures for Utility Construction (weather permitting)
Neyland Drive Lane Closure [April 10] – KUB and its contractor will close the eastbound curbside lane on a short section near address 2015 on Neyland Drive from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, as work is completed on the exterior of the Kuwahee Wastewater Treatment Plant. One eastbound lane and both westbound lanes will remain open on this section of Neyland Drive while work is completed.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and constuction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place to assist motorists traveling in this area. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in this area.

PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING DRAFT FORM BASED CODE FOR CUMBERLAND AVENUE

Location: UT Federal Credit Union, 2100 White Ave.
Who: This meeting is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. Property owners within the proposed Cumberland Avenue District are encouraged to attend. The meeting will be hosted by the City’s Office of Redevelopment.
Purpose: To review proposed changes to the current zoning code for the Cumberland Avenue area. The proposal has been prepared by consultants, Code Studio, out of Austin, TX.
